  • A number of market participants were heading to Denver, Colorado for an Asphalt Institute meeting being held this first week of August.
  • Retail asphalt and flux prices had no changes reported on the East Coast for the week.
  • East Coast asphalt and flux barge prices remained unchanged, with no new deals noted.
  • Midwest wholesale barge and rail markets were very active, with prices mostly within the previous week assessed ranges, except for the upper Midwest which firmed. FOB barge prices remain mostly above FOB rail.
  • Midwest rack selling range assessments go up slightly in some spots. Activity is brisk.
  • Gulf Coast retail asphalt and flux price assessments are flat throughout the region.
  • Gulf Coast asphalt and flux barge prices are assessed steady, with limited activity again.
  • Rocky Mountain selling prices were generally steady this week for rack
  • Rockies wholesale prices were flat for July supply. August prices are being negotiated.
  • West Coast markets were status quo for both Pacific Northwest and California areas.
  • In western Canada, both retail and wholesale asphalt prices were static this week.
  • Eastern Canada markets had flat pricing for both Quebec and Ontario locations.
  • Oil prices increased this week for all benchmark grades.
