Speed Up on Phase Out

This week we examine the VLCC fleet with regard to the impact of regulatory phase-out of single hull tankers. The VLCC fleet size over the last 10 years has been static as shown below. This stable fleet size is a result of annual scrapping activity more or less equaling newbuilding deliveries until 2004, when scrapping activity declined significantly.
