Navigating The Hurricane Season

19-Jul-2019:  Last weekend we saw Barry, the first major storm of the U.S. hurricane season, make landfall close to New Orleans. The official U.S. hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th, but hurricanes can occur outside of this window. For 2019, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts a near-normal hurricane season with 9-15 named storms of which 4-8 could become hurricanes, including 2-4 major hurricanes. This week we look at the impact of hurricanes on the tanker and energy markets.
