TradeWinds: Iraq-Turkey pipeline reopening giving suezmaxes and aframaxes potential boost

Poten & Partners head of tanker research Erik Broekhuizen argued it was unlikely suezmaxes would load for voyages to Asia, given the security issues in the Red Sea.
He also pointed out that VLCCs can load at Ceyhan, but such voyages were rare.
“These additional exports from Ceyhan will mostly benefit the aframax and suezmax segments … since European countries around the Mediterranean are the most likely customers for this crude,” Broekhuizen said.
