Abu Dhabi Commissions FSRU; Other Emirates Projects in Flux

3 November 2016: Abu Dhabi has become the second of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to import LNG, as its floating storage-and-regasification unit (FSRU) received its first cargo from the emirate’s LNG producer Adgas in August. Dubai, the first emirate to import LNG, is looking for cargoes to fill out its 2017 import slate, and other emirates are also eyeing imports. The 135,000-m³ FSRU, named Excelerate and permanently moored at Ruwais, has received two cargoes from Abu Dhabi Liquefaction Co. (Adgas) so far and is unlikely to need more imports this year, as mild weather moves in after peak summer demand from May through September. Please fill out the form to read full article.
