Abdullah Alazzaz
19 June 2017: “LNG demand is expected to reach 294 million tonnes this year, according to Poten & Partners, with over 110 million tonnes of additional demand expected by 2020.” “Citing demand analysis from Poten, Wogan says it’s possible that “we are going to need between 30 and 50 new vessels” by 2020. He says some offtakers for the new LNG capacity have yet to contract all of their vessel capacity, which could further help demand.” “Jefferson Clarke, Poten’s head of LNG analysis, created the vessel multiplier model Wogan cited. He says the diversity of trade routes for LNG is helping push up vessel utilisation. Poten says there are some 255 trade routes now for LNG, which has grown 12% per annum over the last three years.” To read full article, click here.
