Shell Poised to Sign More SPAs with Direct importers in South Korea

23 October 2018:

Shell is poised to sign a 1-MMt/y sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with South Korean direct importer SK E&S for 15 or 20 years starting in 2021, as Shell continues to go after sales to Northeast Asian companies with high credit ratings.

SK E&S is securing long-term supply, likely for its proposed 1-GW Yeoju power plant, which is scheduled to come on stream in 2021. Pricing is heard to be close to 12% of JCC on a delivered basis, according to industry sources.
