In a webinar this week, Poten & Partners’ global head of business intelligence, Jason Feer, said QatarEnergy has been running some of its liquefaction trains at low levels to keep systems cooled down.
He also revealed that the company needs to cool down around 60 of its LNG carriers as part of the logistics of its restart.
Poten is putting the loss of Qatari production this year at 46m tonnes — 7m tonnes per month lost over six months from the shutdown, plus 4m tonnes from its two drone-damaged liquefaction trains at Ras Laffan.
