Tradewinds: PNG LNG Decision Creeps Closer

“According to Tradewinds, “Energy major ExxonMobil is using the summer to mull over bids it has received for existing vessels and newbuildings for its two-train, 6.3 million-tonne-per-annum (mtpa)…PNG LNG project in Papua New Guinea.”  “Sources indicate the company has received a mix of offers from such names as Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), AP Moller-Maersk, Maran Gas Maritime, BW Gas, Knutsen OAS Shipping and Japan’s big three ship-owners, K-Line, NYK and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).” Poten & Partners are said to be the consultants handling the ship acquisition programme. The project is targeting a start-up date of late 2013 or early 2014.”
