Russia Looks to Next LNG Plans With Yamal LNG Near Startup

June 2017: Russia is about to start up its second liquefaction facility, Yamal LNG, which puts it on the path to becoming a more significant LNG player, in addition to its dominant position as Europe’s pipeline gas supplier. The Yamal LNG project will boost Russia’s production by 16.3-MMt/y, bringing its total output to 26.3-MMt/y when added to current production from the two-train, 10-MMt/y Sakhalin 2 facility in the Far East.
