Awami Tehreek opposes administrators with â??political leaningâ??

Awami Tehrik has opposed appointment of officers with political leanings as administrators on local bodies and handing over five districts of Sindh to what it called terrorist outfit and rest of Sindh to Sardars, Waderas and Nawabs and termed it a conspiracy to divide Sindh.

A meeting of central committee of Awami Tehrik was held here at Palejo House last day the minutes of which were given to media on Monday.

The meeting discussed matters of shortage of water in Sindh, flow of water in Chashma Jhelum Link Canal and proposal to build power plant on it, growing role of terrorist outfits in cities of Karachi and Hyderabad, price hike and other issues.

The meeting expressed concern on the shortage of water in Sindh and condemned the anti-Sindh role of Wapda, Irsa, Nepra and Punjab province.

The meeting held giving control of cities of Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas and Sukkur to what it called killer terrorists and remaining districts to anti-people Sardars, Nawabs, Pirs and Mirs was a conspiracy to divide Sindh.

The meeting observed that Sindh could not get due share of its water until 50 million Sindhis do not get united and to throw out the present rulers from power corridors. It said if the people of Sindh launch such movement Awami Tehreek would be with them.

It supported the ‘river march’ of Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum from Kharochhan to Jamshoro walking through Indus river banks. It called pre-poll rigging the seat adjustment between various parties and to appoint the officers with political leanings to various political parties as administrators.

It resolved to foil all such pre poll attempts of government and its allies. It asked to stop settlement of non Sindhis in new town Zulfiqarabad.

It observed that corruption was rampant in almost all departments and demanded higher judicial commission to probe into corruption in government departments.

It resolved to hold water conferences in various towns which are on 6th March in Badin, on 21 March in Sukkur, 27 March Larkana, on 2 April at Daro, 10 April Umerkot, 11 April Sanghar, 15 April Mirpurkhas and in Tando Allahyar on 17 April.

The press conferences was addressed by Awami Tehreek president Ayaz Latif Palejo who was accompanied with Muhammad Khan Bhurgari general secretary, Syed Alam Shah senior vice president Hakim Zangejo, Zulfiqar Phulpoto, Roshan Barhmani and Noor Ahmed Katiar.
